STUPID: ‘Murder insurance’ or protection in self-defense cases? Gun insurance draws criticism
Some are calling it “murder insurance,” and say that rather than promoting personal responsibility and protection, it encourages gun owners to take action and not worry about the consequences. And, they say, it’s being marketed in a way that feeds on the nation’s racial divisions.
“The reason I call it murder insurance is because if you look at the way this is marketed, it’s really sold in the context of ‘There’s a threat around every corner, dear mostly white NRA member,’ and that threat is either a black man or a brown man or some other kind of person of color,” said Guns Down director Igor Volsky.
This is ridiculous. Not only is it ridiculous, it’s party insensitive and a case for racism and discrimination can be made. Self-defense insurance is not a new concept. The NRA is a bit late to the game. Law-abiding citizens don’t go searching to murder people.
The purpose of self-defense insurance is in the extreme and unlikely case that you have to use deadly force to defend yourself, you don’t go bankrupt fighting a corrupt legal and justice system. However, there are many other benefits to these type of insurances including minor cases in communist states like California and New York where you can catch a case for your firearm simply printing out in public. That can easily run up 10 – 20 thousand dollars. I’m sure the gun control freaks don’t care about that though.
